Dating a guy from New England, he' a bit of a snob when it comes to seafood. He's had the best and won't settle for anything less. This isn't such a bad things since he also enjoys cooking and is really good at it. When we made a hometown visit recently to visit his friends and family in Vermont, we flew into Boston Logan International as we had some business to tend to in the area. Once again, my amazing guy had looked ahead into options that we could enjoy and would keep me safe. He also was super excited for me to try one of his favorites that he grew up eating, so off to Legal Sea Foods we went. Notice the note at the bottom they want to know when there is an allergy. (This isn't the place to go off on a tangent that celiac isn't an allergy. What matter is that they take the precautions taught regarding allergies.)

One of our favorite appetizers when we go out to eat at Print Works Bistro in Greensboro, North Carolina is their fried calamari. Since this is a dish that is hard to find safe for me to eat, we wanted to try it here. The crispy calamari at Legal Sea Foods tastes much like what I remember calamari tasting like from before the celiac diagnosis. The calamari at our frequently visited restaurant in North Carolina tastes completely different, but I think my taste buds have come to prefer the new style better.

Ah yes, the good old lobster roll that I had to try. I admit it, it was really good and shocker of all, I think he actually said my roll tasted a bit better than his. I guess it depends on the day as to how the contents and the bread work together. As we all know, the gluten free bread is usually more frustrating as it falls apart and tends to lack the same flavor. This was actually a pretty good roll though and it was the perfect size. I thought the french fries were ok, but nothing stellar and I am not a cole slaw fan, so I didn't eat it. Notice the fact that we completely preloaded by finishing the calamari. I would definitely recommend Legal Sea Foods as a great place to stop in if you're traveling through, just remember to clarify if you're at the terminal location with the extra gluten free options. The first one we stopped at had limited gluten free options.
