True Food - Phoenix, AZ

Updated: Jul 9, 2018

I am blessed to be able to catch up with friends when I travel. Every time I am in Phoenix, I am blessed to be able to meet up with a dear friend from Clemson, who also happens to need to eat gluten free. And of course, being a local, she always knows the best places to grab a bite. I went out to eat last night at True Food Kitchen. When I was in town 3 years ago, it was so good I came here twice after she introduced me to it. There’s no question why it was rated as a top gluten free restaurant in Phoenix.

Yes, they are even pet friendly and allowed us to bring her fur baby in with us. Remember due to health code guidelines, they may not however jump up on the seating. Oops, we learned that lesson.

How cute is this setup outside?

They just came out with their winter menu and I immediately remembered why I loved this place. Check out all of the options. (Editing this blog post after the fact is definitely making me crave some of the yummy food once again!) Link to their menu can be found here. https://www.truefoodkitchen.com/menu

We asked our server for recommendations for best gluten free options. (Yay, this time it isn’t just me and we can try more than one dish.) She recommended the butternut squash pizza & the pad Thai (we substituted shrimp for the chicken); both could be made gluten free. We ordered and split both, so yummy!! I also was impressed with their vegan options, which for me doesn’t apply, but for my friends who are looking for restaurants with multiple options, this is a great one.

Shrimp Pad Thai

Butternut Squash Pizza

Pomegranate Mule

The staff was friendly, professional, and helpful. And the food, clearly was worth coming back for on three different occasions within two trips. I highly recommend this restaurant.
